A turkey dinner with rice pudding is being served on Sunday, April 6th from 4:30 to 6 pm. Cost is $15.00 per person and available at the bar.
Of interest to veterans:
- The Veterans Ombuds Town Hall meting has been postponed until after the Federal election.
- The Government of Nova Scotia is planning to award a Certificate of Recognition to Nova Scotian Peacekeepers who served during the period of 1947 to 1988, when Peacekeepers were acknowledged with a Nobel Peace Prize. Application forms are on the Branch website and can be emailed or mailed to the coordinator Fred Leblanc. Deceased Peacekeepers can also be recognised.
- Notification was given that a settlement has been reached concerning racial discrimination or harassment to veterans. Use this link for information.
Financial assistance for post-secondary eduacation is available through the Branch and NS-NU Command.
- NS-NU Command offers a scholarship to children and grandchildre of veterans and a scholarship for students with disabilities. Application must be submitted by April 15th 2025. Information is available at NS-NU Command Scholarships.
- Our Branch offers bursaries to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of veterans. Applications must be submitted by May 23rd 2025. Information is at Remembrance/Poppy
