2024 Early Bird Campaign

At the General Meeting on September 19^th 2023, a motion will be presented to change the manner of encouraging comrades to renew their 2024 membership dues before November 30^th 2023.

Background

For years, members who renewed their membership during the Branch Early Bird period, paid $5.00 less than the Branch annual dues fee.  This was a reward for paying their dues on time. It meant however that the Branch collected less money. 

In 2022, we had a membership revenue reduction/loss of $570.00 for 2023 renewals.  This followed a revenue reduction/loss of $815.00 for 2022 renewals under Campaign 2021 because the Early Bird was extended to February 28^th 2022 due to Covid. 

The Branch must look at areas where funds can remain stable and membership dues should be one of them.

A $50.00 prize for the 2023 campaign seems a better alternative considering our present economic state.

Moved by Comrade Iris Ouelette, and seconded by Comrade Bruce Hillyard, that the 2023 Early Bird Campaign for 2024 renewals ( Sept 1 to Nov 30 2023 ) be changed from a monetary reduction of $5 per member to a prize draw of one free membership (value $50.00) opennto all members who renew during the campaign dates.
