Activities - 2022

Our 2022 Poppy Campaign activities will begin on Friday October 28th and ran through to Remembrance Day, Friday November 11th

Wednesday October 26th   -  First Poppy - presented at the Porters Lake Senior Club.  Please join branch members and your friends from the community at  2 pm.  Legion dress is encouraged.

Friday October 28th – the first day to wear your Poppy.   Poppy distribution begins at Tim Hortons and the Superstore.  Please remember we do not sell poppies, poppies are a gift from the Legion for people to show their support for veterans,

Friday October 28th to Thursday November 10th - distribution of poppies at Tim Hortons and the Superstore.  Volunteers are needed to man our displays - times vary so that you can chose a slot that fits your schedule.  The schedule is posted at the Branch.

Sunday November 6th   -   

Remembrance Church Service - at St John of the Cross Catholic Church, East Chezzetcook.  Please arrive no later than 11:30 am.

Honour Roll Sunday - 2 PM – our annual ceremony where we honour our past Branch comradess by reading their names and sharing memories later during the reception.  The service is outside the branch and upon completion, we retire into the Branch for refreshments and comradeship.


Monday November 7th to Thursday November 10th - School Visits - our local schools invite you to attend their Remembrance assemblies arranged by the students and staff to acknowledge the scarifice of veterans and families.  Please wear Legion dress or something showing you are a Legion comrade - this is to distinguish us from other guests. 

 Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start.

Tuesday Nov 8th, 10:30 am - Atlantic View Elementary School

Wednesday Nov 9th, 10:45 am - L'Ecole des Beaux Marais 

                                  11:00 am - Bell Park Elementary School

                                   12:10 pm - O'Connell Drive Elementary School

Thursday Nov 10th, 10:20 am - Ross Road Elementary and Junior High School

      12:30 pm - Porters Lake Elementary School


Friday November 11th -

Remembrance Day ceremony at the Porters lake Cenotaph on Highway #7 and James Roy Drive, beginning at 10:55 am.  Spectators are asked to arrive by 10:45 and to park in the Superstore parking lot.


Post Ceremony reception at the Branch beginning once parade participants arrive, about 12:30 pm.  Refreshments will be served and music will be provided by Highway 7
